#Trip Tuesday: Over the hills and through the castles of Ireland

Okay, the title of today's blog is a spin off from that famous line "Over the hills and through the woods to Grandma's house we go" so it may be a little corny. But, appropriate when it comes to a nice tagline about the lush greenery and architecture that permeates Ireland's landscape. It is picturesque really to think about or to ever see in person. The terrain is endless and perhaps dreamy, and the castles are something out of a detailed fairy tale that tickles the mind of children. Theses castles are nothing like the magic ones in Disneyland, but rather historic, classic, and idyllic. They run the gamut of old fortresses dripping in history to updated hideaways still loyal to tradition. I have never been partly because I am not sure if I can do believable river dancing or Irish step dancing and partly due to perhaps a lacking strong belief that I can travel to this "green" land and truly immerse myself in its charms. So for now, I will settle for the pictures and my vivid imagination. Here's where to check out some of Ireland's castles and their hidden and open appeals: http://blog.discoverireland.com/2010/12/castles-in-the-eire/
