I started taking vitamin D3 in 2009. 4,000 - 6,000 IU per day. I haven't had a cold since.

The beef that I have with beans is that they contain phytic acid, which basically inhibits nutrient absorption. This means one must soak the beans for days on end in order to minimize the phytic acid. What a pain.
